I've recently started using TMS320E15s micro-controllers. I don't (at the moment) need the fancy instruction set, just a real fast controller and they fit the bill very nicely. (Especially as the price is about to come down --TI claims--.) The only cross assembler that I could find in the Fall was the one from TI (Rev C, version 3.1) and the more I use it, the less I like it.) This morning, I discovered (after wasting an hour or so) that spaces in macro argument lists are _VERY_ significant (all the args after the first space go in the bit bucket.) It also seems fussy about comments. This is not intended as a flame, but as a request for suggestions. I suppose that I have been lead to expect a less "user hostile" software development environment from my experiences with Avocet and 2500AD cross assemblers. I'm about to start on a 'C25 board, and I'll have to spend some money on a new cross assembler (or update the TI one) so now is the time for me. I'd like to hear about other cross assemblers for the TMS320 family. I will summarize (if there there's enough to bother with.) (Do I have to include a disclaimer on everything? I'm just a user, and don't have any connection with these folks.) If there are opinions above, they must be mine, 'cause this anarchy is to disorganized to have a policy, never mind an opinion.) -- Dale Chayes Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory of Columbia University Route 9W, Palisades, N.Y. 10964 dale@lamont.ldgo.columbia.edu voice: (914) 359-2900 extension 434 fax: (914) 359-6817
