[sci.electronics] The Next Voice You Hear.......

starin@mutha.dec.com (Mark Starin CSS Doc. Services 264-5596) (02/21/89)

Last night I copied the National Weather Service out of Miami, FL on
4428.7 KHz around 2230 local. They were broadcasting a weather report for the
Atlantic. The only unusual thing about the report was that it was given
by a voice synthesizer, not a person.

Are there other examples of this on HF? Also, I noticed Gander
Aeradio and New York Aeradio still seem to have a person reading
their weather - job security?

Thanks.

Mark KB1KJ
