Apparently some of you in this group were interested in getting a cheap image sensor going. Well I've dissected the PXL2000 Kiddie Camcorder (<$180 Canadian) and even managed to interface it to my ibm pc (in a REALLY ugly brute force way). It gives about 120x90 resolution with 16levels of grey scale. Information is available on both comp.sys.ibm.pc and comp.ai.vision. You will probably require an 'arc' type utility for the ibm pc posting, while it should come through tar'ed and compressed on comp.ai.vision. If anyone does something interesting with this I'd appreciate hearing about it. cheers mark -- "How much more black could it be. The answer is none. None more black." If anybody knows of a current source for the "kiddie-camcorder" I'd appreciate hearing about it. No local retailer here has it and F-P representatives here tell me it has been discontinued because it was too highly priced and only sold well when discounted heavily. If you know of a retailer who 1) has one in stock 2) might send me one mail-order please drop me a line.
