Concerns about air quality have driven me to consider constructing an air quality monitor. What sensors are available for monitoring oxygen content, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, or particulate matter? Are there any simple, homemade devices to construct? For instance, is there an equivalent to strain gauges made from wire or batteries made from limes? For that matter, is it possible to grow your own solar cells?
