[sci.electronics] Heathkit ID-5001 Weather Computer

rrw@naucse.UUCP (Robert Wier) (03/26/89)

I wonder if anyone has built the (relatively) new Heathkit
ID 5001 "Advanced" Weather Computer? It is somewhat expensive,
$599 (kit). I was thinking of putting in a request for the
 school here to order one.

The nice thing is that Heath finally has a weather station that
includes an RS 232 interface, so you would hook your computer or
other digital device to it to perform automated experiments. It
might seem to be something that could be used in a "real time"
 programming lab assignment.

I would be interested in hearing opinions on how well it functions,
how difficult was it to build, etc., etc...

 Many thanks...
