[sci.electronics] Analog Switch Question

lowry@orion.SRC.Honeywell.COM (Dave Lowry) (03/30/89)

I would like to find a simple circuit for a TTL controlled analog
switch. When the logic input is in one state, I'd like the switch to
pass a +/- 10v analog signal. When the logic input is in the other
state, I'd like the analog output to be ground.

I'm sure this is simple, but a solution has so far eluded my mechanical
engineer's brain.

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Well, how about using 4066 or the 4016. They are CMOS but they should work
with TTL signals as well. I am not dure of the specs now but your analog
signal must be high-impedance; I doubt that the chips will pass thru more
than 10mA but check the data sheet to make sure.
