Hello, I was wondering if there were any quick, well known answers to the following question. My father is considering purchasing a portable word processor, but he would like to be able to use it both here and in Europe. The ones that do what he wants in the appropriate price range are designed to handle only US or european power, not both. Furthermore, one company has advised him that standard voltage converters will not work on their equipment. Has anyone come up against this problem? Are there any super-duper converters that will convert a current correctly, or any other work-arounds? (I realize some machines do run on either -- he just hasn't found one that does, and also does what he wants, in the price range of interest.) Thanks, Michael P.S. I don't normally read sci.electronics, so could you please send replies to me? If there is demand, I will post (or send to those interested) a summary.
