I'd like to know whether anyone knows of a *SIMPLE* way (preferably involving more soldering than desoldering :-)) to modify an FM radio so that I could tune in to the TV (notably, TV channel 3) Sound Band. I only know that TV sound uses carrier frquencies above standard FM (??). So, If I'm right, all it should involve is hacking the tank circuit (or something else in there) to make sure it tunes into the appropriate frequencies. Am i right ??? Much gratitude in Advance. (This newsgroup is my last hope!). -Vijay Email: vijay@bingvaxu.cc.binghamton.edu Dept. of Computer Science SUNY, Binghamton, NY 13901 Phone at home: (607)797-4431 DISCLAIMER: I'm an electronics Illiterate. -----------------------------------------

A possible way to modify an FM radio's reception band without any sodering/ desoldering is to play with the trimmer capacitors you may find inside or the slugs on variable inductors. You may need to experiment to find which one changes the reception frequency. Channel-3 TV is found below the FM band, around 65-75 MHz or so. It should not be too difficult to get it in.
