[sci.electronics] Signal Encoding

wjones@andromeda.rutgers.edu.rutgers.edu (Wendell E Jones) (05/13/89)

	    Hello,

I need a good book on signal encoding. It should
be up to date as well as be easy to read. For a person
who has not touched a resistor in six years could understand it.

Also I need a book that tells about the latest advances in
	    telecommunication via satilites.

	    thanx

A good place to start is _Satellite_Communications_ by Pratt and
Bostian. John Wiley & Sons, New York, NY, 1986. Library of
Congress card # TK5104.P725.

The coverage is pretty broad, but gives a fairly complete basis for
weighing the advantages of various modulation methodologies.
