[sci.electronics] 88 khz 16 bit word storage to pc/at disk

I have an 8 channel sony pcm based digital "audio" to vhs vcr based
tape recording system in my laboratory. It has a 16 bit wide ttl
level parallel output interface on the back of the recorder cabinet.
Could someone provide a circuit diagram and hints about how to set
up a pc program to do continuous dma transfers into pc memory and
out to pc hard disk at 88 Khz x 16 bits wide data path? The pinout
on the back of the recorder includes:

      o bit 0 o bit 4 o bit 8 o bit 12
      o bit 1 o bit 5 o bit 9 o bit 13
      o bit 2 o bit 6 o bit 10 o bit 14
      o bit 3 o bit 7 o bit 11 o bit 15

o data strobe (goes high when valid data latched on data lines)

I am a psychobiologist with extensive general programming experience and
some limited digital hardware experience. Any assistance you might be
able to provide in the way of a sketch of a possible design would be very
appreciated.

Thanks, AJ Annala
