Can anyone point me to a manufacturer or distributor of these kinds of
transformers? The only big transformer company I know of is Stancor (sp?)
and I don't think they make audio transformers :(

Here are some companies listed in EEM as selling audio transformers:

ISL Products International Limited
235-P Robbins Lane, Syosset, NY 11791
516-937-3475

Magnetek Triad
1124 E. Franklin St., Huntington, IN 46750
219-356-6500

Microtran
145 E. Mineola Ave., Box 236, Valley Stream, NY 11582-0236
516-561-6050
(Their S130 10K-to-10K xfmr looks great, but probably isn't cheap)

Pico Electronics, Inc.
453 N. MacQuesten Pkwy., Mt. Vernon, NY 10552
914-699-5514
(Their 23640/24640 priced $22.20/$25.89 (quan. 1-9) look identical
to the Microtran S130-S/S130-SP. These are studio-grade double-
mu-metal-shielded xfmrs; cheaper xfmrs are certainly available.)

PolyPhase Instrument Co.
175 Commerce Drive, Fort Washington, PA 19034
800-221-POLY

Power Magnetech
441 High St., Perth Amboy, NJ 08861
201-826-4700

Tamura Corp. of America
1150 Dominguez St., Carson, CA 90746-3518
213-638-1790
(Looks like a good selection, including studio-quality)

United Transformer/OPT
300 Red School Lane, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865
201-454-2600
(Also looks like a good line)

It is generally recognized that the best audio transformers are made by
Deane Jensen. His address is:
    Jensen Transformers, Inc.
    10735 Burbank Blvd.
    N. Hollywood, CA 90601
    (213) 876-0059

I have also had good results with those made by Whirlwind:
    Whirlwind Music Inc.
    P.O. 1075
    Rochester, NY 14603
