Over 7 years ago I recall cable companies complaints about a system where
individuals could decode cable signals using a special device or decoder.
Do these devices still exist? If so, where would one purchase one and / or
how would one go about getting one. Also, is it illegal to operate one of these
devices? Then if one operates one, can it be traced? Finally in the event
cable companies produce a different signal or code, would these decoders then
become obsolete or could they decipher any variations the cable companies
produce in the signal?
