Requesting information from anyone who has built their own external
5.25" floppy drive for a Zenith Z-183 laptop (720K fd & 20M hd).
I have been able to get the external drive selected, but a seek error
is generated after about 30 seconds. Various dip switch settings for
number of drives and device driver commands in config.sys have not
been successful.
Note that the 183 external drive connector is a 20 pin .050"
D-Sub Ultraminiature and is unlike that of the 181 or Supersport
connectors (why Zenith did this is beyond me).
Information from anyone who has built their own "generic" laptop
external disk drive would be of interest. Thanks.
