While working on an industrial project, I was asked about a remote controlled crane. It apparently operates by radio on a frequency around 250 KHz and is rather old. I have some experience with radio controlled machinery using UHF but am not familiar with applications in the Low Freq area. The radio link is being disrupted by noise from modern PWM motor controllers. Is there much of this type of control in the LF area? Is this a currently acceptable frequency allocation for radio control? What regulations apply to equipment in this service? Is this type of interferance common and if so, what is the usual corrective action? Thanks, Please reply to moogvax!bill@cs.Buffalo.EDU or post it if you like.
