Can anybody give me specs on the i/o registers for an IBM PC hard disk controller? I know there are 4 registers i/o mapped to 320h on the PC bus: ADDRESS READ WRITE 320h data in data out 321h controller status hardware reset 322h not used controller select 323h not used DMA & interrupt mask How do they work? Data in and data out seem intuitive enough. What values will be returned in the status register? What are meaningful values for the reset, select and mask registers? I'm trying to use a PC disk controller in a non PC environment. Any help will be appreciated. If you post a reply, please email a copy to me as well.
