[sci.electronics] Needed crystal

gbell@pnet12.cts.com (Greg Bell) (10/30/89)

I'm going to be using one of Oki's ADPCM chips (the 6258) in a project. I've
got the chip and the DRAM, but the one thing I can't locate is the 4.096MHz
crystal needed to get sampling freqs of 4K, 5.3K and 8K.

I've checked Jameco, and Digikey... anybody know where I can find a 4.096MHz
crystal???

JAN Crystals, 2341 Crystal Drive, PO Box 06017, Fort Myers FL 33906-6017,
(800)237-3063 carries every conceivable kind of crystal, will custom-cut
non-standard ones at reasonable (i.e. low) prices, and is happy to deal
with retail customers. I've dealt with them and recommend them.

Greg--

Check with Mouser Electronics : 800-34-MOUSER #ME332-1041 $3.96

        or Active Electronics : 800-228-4834 #68067 $1.09

I can't guarantee those prices are still good, and there will be
minimum orders, but they have them. Have you asked at Radio Shack?
They can order quite a few crystals, although I don't know if the
prices are very reasonable.

Cheers!
