I would like to thank everyone who answered my question about ballast boxes and their use in starting fluorescent lights. I now have an additional question: Why do fluorescent lamps flicker? What part is dying (dead) when flickering is noticeable? Stuart Lichtenthal smlg1015@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu
