I'm looking for references on how to build a Jacob's ladder and/or other
related projects. Sources for parts would also be appreciated (big
transformers?). Yes, I know it's dangerous; I don't plan to run it when
the cat's around...

If this guy needs help figuring out how to build a Jacob's ladder,
we probably shouldn't tell him anything. He'll just get himself into
trouble.
Somebody might tell him how to make a small Van de Graff, which is
one of the less dangerous ways to play around with high voltages.
