This includes a 12Mhz POD-31 board that can be used for 8031 development. The same pod board can also be used with the 80C31, 80C31-1, 8032, 8344 and 80C51FA chips. The emulator board can accomodate other pod boards for all of the members of the 8051 family. This is a really great emulator with a very decent windowing interface. It also support source level debugging with Intel compatible assemblers and various C compilers like Franklin and Archimedes. It plugs into a PC compatible slot and the user interface includes support for a mouse. For example, you can just click on an address in the window and tell the emulator to run until it hits that address. You can also monitor any set of registers or memory locations that you want in seperate windows. Very useful. Find bugs FAST. I checked out a number of compilers before buying this one. It generates the most efficient code, has direct support for writing interrupt handlers, special support for bit manipulation etc. It doesn't require a lot of monkeying around with settting it up for your system. This unit will burn all 2500 and 2700 series EPROMS up to 16K bytes. It includes 16K of static memory and 3 pre-wired personality modules for burning 2732a, 2764 and 27128 eproms. It will interface to any computer via the RS232 port and accepts intel hex format input or generates the same kind of output. It also includes a hex keypad for both controlling the unit as well as for examining and modifying memory locations. This unit has two pods with 8 channels each and a third pod which includes 3 connections for triggering. It will interface with any RS232 Terminal that is capable of ANSI protocol and also includes software for PC compatibles which provides a very nice graphical interface similar to many more expensive dedicated logic analyzers. It also include oscilloscope trigger outputs and will save up to the last 2046 words of data for analysis.
