[sci.electronics] Passive IR motion detector circuit

cmaccarl@polyslo.CalPoly.EDU (C. A. MacCarley) (01/04/90)

I'm looking for info on circuits used for passive IR motion detection,
like the kind used in automatic security lights. I'd bet that a
schematic for this kind of thing has turned up in one of the electronics
mags. Any references? Thanks.

Contact Amperex (part of Philips, now just called Philips, I think) at
401-232-0500. They're very generous with data sheets and app notes on their
pyroelectric IR sensors, as well as samples. Technical Publication 213 would
be of particular use for you because it has a complete schematic for a motion
sensing circuit.

Correction!

Since Amperex is no longer a separate company, you now need to call Philips
Components at 1-800-447-3762 or at 407-881-3200 locally.
