I am interesting in locating 32bit DMA chips and was wondering whether anybody on the net could give any tips , such as manufactures and product IDs. Thats if they exist as a consumer item (as oppose to OEM stuff ) . thanks richard .. 32-bit DMA chips for what bus? Are you talking about a DMA controller to go on the motherboard, or a bus master interface chip to go on a peripheral card, or a DMA interface chip to go on a peripheral card? If you just want a general purpose DMA chip (whatever that is), check out the MEAN chip from NCR. I believe the part number is 86C05. The "MEAN" acronym stands for Mico Channel/EISA/AT-bus/NuBus. This chip is strap selectable for handling any of those bus interface standards! It is intended for use as a bus-master interface on a peripheral card.
