[sci.electronics] Prescaler IC needed

jerryw@teksce.SCE.TEK.COM (Jerry Willard) (01/11/90)

I'm trying to fix a TV tuner that has a bad prescaler IC. The set isn't
very old but the IC that's in it is apparently already obsolete. I haven't
been able to find a replacement anywhere. I need help.

The part is a Plessey SP4020 (or Siemens SDA4020).

Plessey has another part (that is also now not available) that is a close
second: SP4634.

All of the other parts I can get won't work. Can anyone suggest where I
can get one of these parts?

You might try one of the two following companies, I have managed to
get out of date no longer manufactured ICs from them in the past.

Target Tronics, 216-248-7930, Debra King, (Ohio)

Rochester Electronics, 617-462-9332, (Boston)
