Hi folks.
There's been a lot of talk about Multi-meters recently, so I thought
this might be a good time to ask about LCR meters.
I'm planning on doing some long-term work with coils and caps (in working
with Tesla coils), so I figured I better invest in an LCR meter. But I really
don't know where to start. My application doesn't require exact precision, so
I'm looking to buy a used meter at a hamfest or such.
What should I look for in a decent LCR meter? What are typical ranges
for inductance & capacitance vs prices? Could someone give me some ballpark
figures for different meters given different functions?
Note: Our feed to this newsgroup has been kind of flakey, so I would
appreciate it if you could e-mail a reply (at one of the addresses listed
below). If there's enough interest I'll summarize. Or if this is going to
be a hot topic go ahead and post the reply. :-)
Thank you very much.
Jon
