[sci.electronics] I need vacuum tubes ...

ehg@aramis.rutgers.edu (Eric Goldenberg) (02/13/90)

Is there anybody out there who knows where I can get or order some
vacuum tubes (i.e.- Sylvania 6l6). I am secretly refurbishing, and
the keyword here is refurbishing, my mothers antique Wurlitzer juke.
Offhand I don't know the specific part numbers, but I can go home
and look. This would be of great importance to me, and would be a
great Birthday present for her. Absolutely any information would
be immensely appreciated. Please e-mail me.

 ADVthanksANCE,

-Eric

Eric--I, too, am an antique Wurlitzer jukebox owner--a model 1100,
the last of the 78 RPM jukeboxes. (I suppose there are readers on
this net too young to know what a 78 is!!)

There are quite a few tube vendors out there. I suggest you pick
up a sample copy of the Jukebox Collector, a monthly magazine of ads
and articles including tube folks. There are also a number of
jukebox shows around the country that are great places to pick up
pieces and parts. There's probably a jukebox fixer-upper within a
100 mile radius of your home, no matter where you live.

It's published in Iowa (Des Moines?) and I can get you the address
if you wish.
