Gordon is too modest.  He is the father of HDOS, which put other operating 
systems of the day (notably CP/M) to shame.  It had loadable device drivers, 
timekeeping, an overlay mechanism and lots of other stuff that didn't make it 
into the micro mainstream until MS-DOS.   (Which was about the time Gordon 
moved to Bellevue?)  If you've ever inspected unused areas of RAM on an HDOS 
system (or perhaps it was unused disk sectors), you'd see "JGL JGL JGL JGL 
...".  I don't know what Gordon's first name is, nor why he prefers "Gordon", 
but if coaxed, I'm sure he has lots of interesting HDOS stories!
