I worked for the Digital Support Group for three and one half years at a university. We repaired all computing equipment for the university and other government agencies. The computing center dumped all the Qume QVT's for the Freedom 100's because "they had more function keys and were programmable." The Freedoms were DOGS! We would go up EVERY week to pick up five to ten of them for repair. We would see a Qume in our shop once or twice a year. They (the Freedom's) had an assortment of problems - power supply, loss of firmware, loss of CRT, loss of keyboard firmware, etc. After this weekly pickup had continued for a time, the university decided to contact Liberty to return all the terminals and get their money back. The university got stuck with the DOGGIE terminals and Liberty got placed on the vender "black list". If you like pain and suffering - buy a Liberty. If you want a good dependable terminal buy a Qume. I picked mine up for $275.00 three years ago (it was two years old then) and it's still going strong.
