[sci.electronics] Stealth Paint Needed

john@anasaz.UUCP (John Moore) (05/27/90)

I would like to paint my HF beam with some camo-colors so as to
reduce its visual impact. I tried this once before with a 2-meter
beam, and the effect was stunning - the antenna just disappeared.
I should mention that the only angles at which it was visible in
the first place were from a long distance, horizontal, with mountain/
folliage backdrop.

The problem is that the paint apparently had a significant dielectric
effect, screwing up the antenna. I certainly don't want to mess up
my HF beam!

Does anyone KNOW where to get paint with minimal effect, that can be
applied directly to aluminum radiating surfaces? Does anyone know what
this stuff is called, or specific brands?
