I just recently saw Talking Heads and B52's at Saratoga, NY. I was even more impressed than I thought I was going to be, the Heads did a 2 set/1 encore show that was long compared to what the really commercial acts are doing these days. David Bynre has taken some aspects of the Japanese Theatre shows he worked with, and the result is a very unique beginning, he opened with an acoustic version of Psycho Killer, then the remaining members joined the show as the roadies moved their platforms onto the stage, 1 member per song. Tina Weymouth did a great job as they did a short stint as the Tom Tom Club. they also used some rear projection visuals that were pretty impressive.... As for the B52's, I have to admit that after going deaf to their music at partys over the last couple of years, it wasn't quite as loud as I had expected...but like the Heads very impressive show without the typical millions of flashing colored spotlights all over the place. I was glad they did a good mix of their old popular songs, I'm not as much into the Mesopotamia stuff. Wammy's not bad. The highlite had to Strobe Light. Fred is something you have to see to believe... ("where's my telephone?!") all in all 2 very impressive shows I would highly recommend.
