I own two model-100 radio shack laptops. I'd like to upgrade the memory on these, they are presently at their minimum of 8k. I've been trying to get the part number of the chip, with little luck. Could someone please fill me in with this 'industry' secret (you should hear the excuses Radio Shack comes up with). Thank you, Jasba -- Jasba C. The original ones consisted of a ceramic substrate, with 2 flat-pack chips soldered to the top of it. You are in luck! A company called Purple Computing sells upgrades, and other accessories for most laptops. I have once purchased upgrade chips for my model 100, and they work fine. I think they were half the cost RS charged (years ago). Numbers I have for them are 800-732-5012, and 805-987-4788. Good luck! Christopher A.
