A friend of mine is interested in Tesla. Does anyone in this group share his interest? Alternatively, is their another, more appropriate group for such interests. Thanks for any help.

Wellll, presumably you had an electronic group in mind, but, consider International Tesla Society, described here by Larry Backstrom: >Early in 1984 a group of engineers, scientists and historians gathered in >Colorado Springs to plan a symposium to coincide with the 100th anniversary >of the arrival of Nikola Tesla in the United States. About 400 people from >around the world attended. The interest in Tesla, his inventions and theories >was so high that the symposium committee decided to form a permanent >organization. The international Tesla Society was incorporated in December >1984 as a non-profit organization, with the following objectives: >MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS: You will receive a Membership Card, the official Society >bi-monthly news digest, discounts on Society publications discounts on >symposium admission fees, and other items to become available as the Society >grows. You will also have the opportunity to help organize a local Society >chapter or join one in your area that is already established. >For further information write to: > International Tesla Society, Inc. > 330-A West Uintah Street, Suite 215 > Colorado Springs, CO 80905-1095 > United States of America I believe they have recently started up a BBS, no details on that to hand... More currently: (three Weeks and counting...) 26-29 Jul 1990 Colorado Springs, Co 1990 International Tesla Symposium Hilton Inn. Symposium registration is $180.00, though its broken down by session. Conference proceedings not included. (They haven't got the '88 proceedings published yet, sigh....). Presumably the usual sales area, live coil demos (One member builds 10 foot high coils....), and presentations on Tesla, his history, technology, and modern "on the edge" science... Murphy willing, I'll be there. Anybody else? I had an exchange student from Yugoslavia once where the give him the credit he deserves. If it wasn't for Tesla's research and discoveries, so much of our electric world would not be here. Let's not forget either that it was Tesla who invented radio, as proved by his successful suit against Marconni, who still get's all te credit. (Westinghouse eventually bought all his polyphase rights) He invented the 'rotating field' AC electric motor... He could produce 'fireballs' (naturally occuring electrical phenomena) at will, something we cannot duplicate today... And many, many other fantastic inventions... Rick
