[sci.electronics] Flexible solar arrays

cgordon@vpnet.chi.il.us (Gordon Hlavenka) (07/11/90)

A while ago, there was a post from someone looking for flexible solar
arrays. Here's a source to try:

(From NASA Tech Briefs, July 1990)

"Only 0.12 mm thick, Sanyo Electric's new Amorton (TM) solar
cell film can be shaped to conform to three-dimensional
surfaces... The film's light weight yields a power-to-weight
ratio of 200 milliwatts per gram... will be demonstrated
in July, when it will be used to power the experimental
Sunseeker aircraft during its flight across the US."

(No address or phone for Sanyo given...)
