I have just obtained an Alpine 7136 auto stereo. Unfortunately, it came with no documentation whatever. There are six wires of distinct color coming from one corner of the chassis. They may be an aftermarket modification. From the same corner comes a thick, black cable terminated by a 6-pin circular connector. Can anyone provide the pin-out for the six wires? I don't want to apply 12 VDC across the wrong two pins. (According to the local electronics outlet, there is no Sam's Photofact for this radio. I'll appreciate, also, any info as to whether this is correct.) Post responses to sci.electronics or (preferably) e-mail to abc@brl.mil. Thanks! _Brint -- _Brinton Cooper BRL - Where "Research" is our Middle Name.

There are six wires of distinct color ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Did you ask the previous owner/person from whom you obtained it? Or was it obtained from a 'friendly street vendor' who looked to need a hit of crack? My appologies if this was a legitimate transaction; but my sincerest hopes that you get what you deserve if you did indeed (knowingly or not) buy stolen property.
