At the last Usenix conference WE announced that they were now in the business of UNIX training. Of particular interest were courses like System V internals, device driver implementation, etc. We have a number of people here that could benefit by such courses if the courses are thorough. However, before we decide to commit ourselves to alot of money I would like to talk to people who have already been through the WE courses. Basically, I would like to know anything about these courses that people can provide, some specific questions are: Has anyone out there taken one (or more) of these courses, if so, what is your impression of them? When discussing system internals, at what level do they discuss things? i.e. do they tell you Unix has a round-robbin scheduler, or do they tell you how runin, runout, and runrun are used? Who are the people that are actually teaching the courses, are they people who know the material "inside out" or are just barely acquanted with it? Any information would be greatly appreciated, please mail your responses directly to me, I will summarize and post them to the net if there is sufficient interest. Joe Boykin Data General Corp.
