[sci.electronics] Source for a CD2240?

gsm@terminator.cc.umich.edu (Greg Miller) (07/26/90)

Hopefully someone else out there can help me - I'm trying to find a source
for a CD2240 - it's apparently a CMOS video sync generator. I need the
darned thing for a project that revolves around a design published in the
May '90 issue of Radio-Electronics that restores sync to video signals.

I've had no problems finding any of the other devices, but this one
certainly seems to elude me. I don't know the manufacturer, nor can I find
any source (wholesale or retail) that even acknowledges it's existance.

Does anybody have any suggestions of where I might try and get this thing,
or even a pointer to who manufactures it?

 Thanks!

Fairchild, Intersil,Texas Instruments and Exar does have a chip
called 2240, which is a programmable timer/counter (16-pins).
The Exar part is called XR-2240, Texas Instruments uA2240 etc..
The chip is supposed to be timimg from micro-seconds to days.

Radio Shack used to sell this beast. You may have to check a few to find one
that still has it in stock.
