Our lab has an x-ray diffractometer with 4 stepper motors to drive the 4 axes. The controller for these motors is ancient. Rather than waiting for it to break at some critical moment we'd like to hook it up to be controlled by our lab computer (an Amiga 3000). I haven't found any amiga-specific stepper motor control boards, but I can get an HPIB interface. I'm looking for a controller that uses this interface. Barring that I'd like to find a general purpose stepper motor contorl board and I'll build the interface myself. Or, the worst possibilty, get a couple of IBM stepper motor control boards and use them in the IBM slots on the Amiga (I'd like to avoid this, besides it's expensive). Any suggestions ??? Please reply via email.
