Does anyone have the settings for the baud rate switches on a Votrax Type 'N Talk text to speech synthesizer? (Model 100) ((Circa 1980)) Any help would be appreciated. -- Ollie Eisman (N6LTJ) ollie@hydra.unm.edu (505)277-4845 3505 Lafayette Rd. From page 7 of the TYPE 'N TALK user's manual:
Close (down position) only one switch at a time:
BAUD SWITCH
75 1
150 2
300 3
600 4
1200 5
2400 6
4800 7
9600 8
But, I sure hope you have more info than what your posting suggests. The
RS-232 wiring for the VOTRAX unit is "non-standard", and there's a LOT of
software commands that one need issue to the unit to get it to function.
I still use one (VOTRAX TYPE 'N TALK) in a monthly seminar I give. So if
you have questions, feel welcome to email. But I strongly suggest you get
a copy of the User's Manual; it's copyright 1981 by Votrax so I cannot make
a copy for you, but if you're unable to get one from VOTRAX (Federal Screw
Works) I could make a copy with VOTRAX' written permission and reasonable
photocopying and mailing fees (the book is 32 pages).
The address I have for them (circa 1982) is:
VOTRAX Division of Federal Screw Works
500 Stephenson Highway
Troy, Michigan 48084
Phone numbers (again circa 1982) are:
order line: 800-521-1350
prod. info: 313-588-0341
