[sci.electronics] cable descrambler kits/schematics

franco@bbn.com (Frank A. Lonigro) (08/22/90)

Hi:
I know I can buy descrambler boxes already made, but I'm interrested
in building my own. Anyone know where I can get plans for such a thing?
If I were to buy a descrambler ready made, the one I'd need to buy is a
Jerrold Tri-Bi....

Thanks,
-franco

I would rather imagine that it would depend quite a bit on what scheme
your local cable co/ satellite folk are using. As has been mentioned
earlier in this group, some of the simpler systems (such as v/h sync suppresion
video inversion, clipping and shifting aren't so bad) - I believe that
the digital scrambling systems may be worse.

Disclaimer: I have no non-theoretical knowledge of the subject.
There Big Brother -- you happy?
