I have located documention for the send command but I can't find the source code for it. The command acts like write but will take a line of text as an arguement and send that message to the specified user and then terminates. I think that it existed at CMU. If anyone could mail me a copy of it, assuming it is public domain, I would appreciate a copy. Thanks in advace. -David Kovar Dartmouth College ...decvax!dartvax!davidk

#R:dartvax:-37200:smu:18800001:000:600 smu!leff Nov 17 07:46:00 1983 I remember that at Polytechnic Institute of New York, they had an addition to write where one could use write in the following format: write user-name - ' message text ' and the message would be sent to the appropriateplace. It was used quite frequently. It obviously isn't what you mentioned but it will do the same job. Contact them about it since I have currently lost touch with them. If they are not on the net, you can try 212-643-8484 and ask to speak to systems. If you do call them, find out when they are getting on the net since I would like to resume contact via electronic mail.
