We are evaluating the database programs Mistress (Rhodnius Inc.), Unify, (Unify Corp.) and Sir (Scientific Information Retrieval, Inc.) to decide which will best suit our purposes at the lowest cost. We are a medical research & scientific computing center, and require a database that is easy to learn and use, yet can handle complex queires and perform well on much data. We run System III Unix* on a VAX-11/780 and use SPSS and BMDP for statistical analysis. Any information users of these programs can provide concerning ease of use, performance, adabtability, and overall worth will be greatly appreciated. Please respond by return mail.
