Query: The location of any fusible links, or diodes used as such. I'm hoping someone in net land can help me with this, as there are a few at least out there with some cardnial knowledge on Bendix/King handy talkies, as the manufacturer obviously enjoys the right to not make such details known to the general electronics populus. (As near as I can tell) I tapped 2 contacts on the 8 pin port of a Bendix/King HT while releasing 2 contacts used for programming. The Bendix went to sleep; But I don't think any IC went, as it plain shutdown, no brain damage noted. (Tones, faulted display, gentle smoking, etc) I was told there was a thin wire used as such a fuse, nothing found matching that idea, the battery pack is fine, and the circuty from the battery to switch (as well as PC board) is complete. I haven't located any part matching the stadard Buss surface mount fuses. (Yes, the whole radio is surface mount components, double sided boards, populated on both sides, IE Simple Repair Hell.) While I'm on the subject, anyone know of any modifications to this radio, or keypad & non-standard programming tricks (like holding keys at powerup, like many 2m HTs?)
