I just bought a Sony projection telivision at a local auction for a pretty good price. It only had two problems. The first was the absence of vertical sync for the blue gun. Simple fix, I even had the transistor in my junk pile! The second problem however is tougher. The silver screen this set projects on to is pretty messed up. It has smudges, fingerprints, and gouges in its surface. I presume freon would be a good way to clean it but I wold still have to deal with the gouges. Does anyone know if there is something I can spray onto this surface to restore it? Both silver and white paint have been suggested. I am looking into buying a new screen from Sony but it will probably cost more than I paid for the whole thing. Anyone have any ideas or experience?
