Where can I obtain small quantities of slugs and coil wire? I would like to experiment winding my own inductors, but the two suppliers I found so far won't sell in small quantities. When you only need to build a few custom coils, why spend hundreds for a large spool of wire and a gross of slugs? Eric, tinkerer-at-large

They usually have lots of junk that could be dismantled to yield the desired parts. Alternatively, call the manufacturer and tell them that you are a senior engineer at Whizbang Devices Corp and you need engineering samples of their product.
