[sci.electronics] Slugs by Mail

Where can I obtain small quantities of slugs and coil wire? I would like
to experiment winding my own inductors, but the two suppliers I found so far
won't sell in small quantities. When you only need to build a few custom
coils, why spend hundreds for a large spool of wire and a gross of slugs?

Seriously though - try a surplus store. They usually have lots of junk that
could be dismantled to yield the desired parts. Alternatively, call the
manufacturer and tell them that you are a senior engineer at Whizbang
Devices Corp and you need engineering samples of their product. Works for
me!

Well I dunno about the coil wire, but I'd be happy to send you all the
slugs you want - they've pretty much destroyed my garden this year!
