Assuming you mean a protable terminal with a modem built in, there is one manufactured by Digital Equipment Corporation called the LA-12. I found it to be superior to the TI in all respects except weight (the LA-12 is very heavy) Some of the nicer features are as follows: o Good tactile feedback on the keyboard; o Built in 300 and 1200 baud (the TI is only 300 baud) acoustic coupler *and* direct connect modem (TI is only acoustic); o Prints on plain paper (not the "shiny", expensive TI paper); o Both tractor and friction feed for paper transport; o Has an impact dot matrix print head (i.e., non- thermal) so you can make multiple copies; o Built in dot addressable graphics (the resolution escapes me, but it was very high). Sorry, but the price also escapes me, but it was not unreasonable. -- Steven M. Queriolo AT&T Bell Labs, Short Hills hlhop!smq
