A project in which I'm participating will require considerable DSP "horsepower" to do filtering and spline-fitting for telephony applications. We have been considering various DSPs, including those manufactured by Motorola, TI, NEC, Honeywell (now handled by some other company), Analog Devices, SGS, etc. I'm looking for some feedback from those who have had experience in this field so that we can make informed decisions. Please, no fire-hydrant p*ssing contests; just good ol' experience, facts and innovation ... thanks.
