This message is mostly on behalf of a friend, but I am interested in this also: I'm looking for documentation of all types of commercial equipment relating to comercial broadcasting. Things of particular interests are manuals and diagrams, etc of Commercial FM Circular Polorized broadcast anntennas. Needless to saw, Jampro wasn't too keen ofn the idea of sending us detailed diagrams. We just want to do some experiments with circular polarization, and can't dish out the $40,000 for a basic C.P. Antenna. Also, We have guts and parts (he's a collector of such stuff) of all types of transmitters and exciters, and I was asked to see if anyone may have information on (older) commercial transmitters and exciters. In particular, we're looking for documentation for CCA 10 Watt direct FM exciter, which the manual was lost a few years back, and CCA is now out of business. I belive the CCA is from the 60s to mid 70s, and will run 80Mhz to 174Mhz with the proper tweeks and mods, and was intended for commercial broadcast as well as use for "Fixed" use, such as in a Local Gov't VHF system, and is crystal controlled. (That bandwith requires component changes...) Also interested in Collins tranmitters, other CCA equipment, millitary, GE, etc...etc.... Just for info, Fair Radio sales in Lima, Ohio in their Fall 1990 catalog are advertising rhis: Technical Materials Corperation's GPT-10K 2-32 Mhz SSB 10 Kw (!!) transmitter "Appears complete except 4cx5000a PA and 8295A Drivers" 2700 Lbs Shipping Weight $4,000 (Not Bad...) It might just cost another $4,000 to ship it! / Hale Telecommunications Incorperated - KKLR & KALE UUCP: (cbosgd, sdcsvax, nosc)!crash!guhsd000 ARPA: crash!guhsd000@nosc.mil INET: guhsd000@crash.CTS.COM RF : DC to Light "...and hit him with the heaviest thing he could find, the current volume of FCC Regulations...Uncle Mouth fell dead." - V. of Laryngitis
