An associate of mine will be travelling to a jungle in Papua New Guinea and is interested in buying a portable solar energy system to power his IBM portable computer. The system will probably consist of a DC to 110VAC at 1 or 2 amps converter, battery, and solar panels. Does anyone have any experience with such a system or know of any manufacturers of this type of equipment ? david _____________________________________________________________________________ McGill University, Faculty of Dentistry, Room M40, 3640 University St., Montreal, Quebec, Canada, H3A 2B2, (514) 398 7229, FAX: (514) 398-8242. One place to start is Real Goods. Real Goods 1-800-762-7325 966 Mazzoni St. Ukiah, Ca. 95482 Order their catalog. (It's free) The PowerStar 200 Pocket Inverter (#27-104) hooked up to a couple of Sovonics Sun Pal (SP) Modules (These are folding flexible solar panels)(#11-333) and a Ni-Cad pack should do the trick! There are many other items that are of great use in remote areas listed in their catalog. Regards, Jeff
