[He is wondering what a 567 is] You can't find it in the TTL databook because it is a linear chip. In this application, it is probably being used as a tone decoder, locking onto the carrier of the transmitted IR signal. Check the Linear book under the LM-567 (or similar prefix) /mike -- \|/ Michael L. Does any one else out there have any suggestions. THanks. I found this in an IC Master. Hope this helps. 567 Monolithic Tone Decoder _____________ _____________ | U | output |---| __________|---| filter | 1 | |\ |/ | 8 | output |---|---*-| >-------| npn |---| | ^ |/| |\, arrow | low-pass |---| | |_________| |---| loop filter | 2 |_ | ____________ | 7 | ground |---| | |____| quadrature | |---| | | | phase | | |---| | _\| detector | |---| _____ input | 3 |_|___| /|____________| __| 6 | | |---| | | _____|______ | |---| timing | | |_\|phase-locked|__| | resistor |---| | /| loop | |---| and -Vcc | 4 | |______| pll |_____| 5 | capacitor |---| |____________| |---| _____| |___________________________| Hope this helps. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------- Robin Amano | Internet: robin@uhunix.uhcc.hawaii.edu UHCC | 2565 The Mall | Honolulu, HI 96822
