Does anyone know what the current state of the art is concerning power cogeneration using synchrnous inverters? I'm talking about small scale here as well. The Real Goods catalog mentions them in passing by saying what synchronous inverters are but that they are cost prohibitive. To anticipate the obvious query: synchronous inverters are used in alternative energy systems to convert power from a DC source to a AC power to be fed into the public utility grid.
