[sci.electronics] MultiMeter

robf@mcs213k.cs.umr.edu (Rob Fugina) (12/08/90)

I'm a student in EE at UMR (see header) and I've decided to buy myself a
multimeter for xmas. What I have my eye on is one that Jameco Electronics
sells. I think the model number is 3650B and the brand name on the case
is Metex. I've never heard of this brand before and I'd like input, both
on the brand, and on this meter. It has several ranges each to measure
AC and DC voltage and current, capacitance, resistance, frequency, and
transistor hFE. It's digital and has 3 places plus a '1' digit (they call
it 3.5 places) and a bar-graph display. Regular price is $79.95 and they
had it on sale earlier this year for $74.95.

Please send input! I don't care if it's to me personally (robf@cs.umr.edu)
or back to the newsgroup.

Thanx to those who responded to my posting. I think I'll probably go
with the Metex.
