[sci.electronics] TTL vs. CMOS oscillators

hi, this may seem to be a stupid question but, i have a 40 MHz series hybrid
crystal clock oscillator from Newark Electronics.  it is TTL compatible
and will drive 1-10 TTL gates.  can this be used with CMOS chips, for example
in a Pierce Oscillator configuration?

It will also drive CMOS chips that have TTL-compatible inputs, such as
74HCT series. No need to build a Pierce oscillator or anything unusual.
